Book illustration aesthetic

The story "Rudie Nudie" by Emma Quay drew inspiration to us for its hand drawn aesthetic. The use of crayons make the drawings quite naive but interesting and the block colour and fills are very appealing. Simple but aesthetically pleasing.

"The delightful illustrations are pencil drawings with photo-shopped patterns and colours of soft, pastel peaches, greens and blues. Emma has captured the true essence of toddlers in this book: joy, freedom, exploration and innocence."

The story "I am doodle cat" written by Kat Patrick and illustrated by Lauren Marriott drew inspiration also to the hand drawn, simple, loose aesthetic.
Doodle cat is also great inspo into how we can create our mouse character of Uma! Doodle cat is sometimes shown just as a line drawing and sometimes shown as a block fill cat.

"I Am Doodle Cat is a cheerful children’s book here to encourage imagination, celebration of the things you love and finding the magic in silliness. Written by Kat Patrick with delightful illustrations by Lauren Marriott, this book shows a tomato-red Doodle Cat rejoicing in everyday pleasures such as swimming in the ocean, wearing a favourite onesie and playing guitar."
